OUR PHILOSOPHY

Nature provides us with a wonderful basis for life, but its balance is delicate. We are seeing it more and more clearly: the reckless exploitation of natural resources is gradually leading to changes with dramatic consequences. At Crazy Chic, we believe that we are all responsible.

We all owe it to ourselves to do our part to minimize our impact on the environment on which we so heavily depend. No matter how small it may be! Everyone must do their part, like a hummingbird!

OUR COMMITMENT

Our commitment extends to all levels that we can control.

As a designer jewelry brand, we have always produced our jewelry locally in the greater Geneva area since our founding in 2011, thereby minimizing the CO2 impact of our procurement. In this spirit, we also rely on local partners to support local economic activity.

In addition, most of our electroplating work (gold plating, rhodium plating) is carried out in Geneva by a family-run business with RJC certification. This certification from the Responsible Jewellery Council guarantees compliance with an ethical and social code and ensures that the raw materials it processes or extracts are sourced using methods that are safe for people and the environment.

Also in line with this philosophy of minimizing our impact on the environment by avoiding plastic and its derivatives as much as possible, un chic fouuses natural materials for all our cords, packaging, and merchandising.

The cords of our bracelets are made from 100% waxed cotton, 100% suede, or 100% natural silk.

Our jewelry bags are also made from 100% natural cotton. Our gift packaging is also made from paper.

Finally, our merchandising consists of wooden boards made from locally harvested and seasoned wood, which are prepared by a carpenter in Geneva.

We are also working to reduce the use of plastic in our postal shipments. We are committed to using only natural materials for these shipments by 2025.

GIVING MEANING

Ethical and social responsibility also means not contributing to excessive consumerism. Producing high-quality jewelry locally that lasts a long time is also a way of taking responsibility. That is the strength of designer jewelry.

Designing and manufacturing jewelry that tells a story is our way of giving it meaning, so that we do not find ourselves in a situation of excessive disposable consumption that harms our environment.

We also do not succumb to the excessive urge to pursue novelty at any cost. We offer one or two collections per year, in contrast to what is seen in the fashion industry or in traditional costume jewelry. There is a fundamental shift towards a more moderate approach to consumption and, consequently, to production for brands. Crazy chic has always functioned this way

We believe that everyone must do their part as a hummingbird to work toward a better world.

OUR CAUSES

We strive to use our brand awareness for causes that are close to our hearts, that help others, and/or that serve to protect the environment.

Since 2018, we have been working with the OTIUM Center. It is a unique place whose goal is to support cancer patients—in parallel with their medical treatment—through all the little things in life that relieve stress on the body and mind. It is a place where people can meet, exchange ideas, and do something good for themselves.

For you, we have designed a bracelet with text in rhodium-plated sterling silver or with 18-karat gold plating:

“Listen to the Beat of Her Heart”

An ode to life and the light that dwells within us. As designer Nathalie Rossel emphasizes, “listening to one’s heartbeat” means falling in love, living in the moment, but above all, “simply being.”

70% of the proceeds will be donated to the OTIUM Foundation.

But a stylish N arr won't stop, we are planning further collaboration for an important environmental cause starting in 2021!
